In a distressing daytime incident, a 13-year-old girl was reportedly coerced into a wooded area of Kissena Park in Queens and sexually assaulted by a man with a knife, say NYPD officials.
The teenage girl was in the park with a 13-year-old boy when they were confronted by the suspect around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The man, wielding a knife, forced them to go to a secluded spot near Colden Street and Kalmia Avenue. He then took both teenagers’ phones and sexually assaulted the young girl.
The perpetrator escaped without being caught, leaving the young victims to be attended to by EMS and transported to a local hospital where they were listed in stable condition.
The NYPD has provided a description of the suspect as a male in his 20s, about 5-foot-5 in height with curly hair, braces, and a unique chest tattoo depicting either a boar or a bull with red eyes. He was also seen wearing red sneakers and carrying a green backpack at the time of the attack.
Efforts are being made to locate video footage in the vicinity that might help identify the attacker. Police have yet to make any arrests in connection with the case.
