New Delhi:
Accomplished Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen, known for her impactful performances both in cinema and the digital space, discussed during an interaction with Mashable India, an interesting episode from the sets of her film Biwi No. 1 with Salman Khan. She mentioned that despite director David Dhawan’s suggestion to wear flats for the scenes, her co-star Salman encouraged the actress to opt for heels instead. She recounted, “When David would suggest on the sets of Biwi No. 1 that ‘Sush, don’t wear heels’, I would comply by arriving in flats. However, Salman would notice and question, ‘You have a nice outfit, but why the chappals?’ I would respond that it’s because he was not tall enough for me to wear heels. At that, he would laugh and insist, ‘Go put on your heels. I’ll handle my height, you handle yours.’ This response I found to be very forward-thinking. There are aspects of Salman’s personality that I really appreciate and cherish.”
It’s noteworthy that Sushmita Sen and Salman Khan have worked together in several films such as Maine Pyaar Kyun Kia, Tumko Naa Bhool Payenge, and of course, Biwi No 1.

I have been fortunate enough to witness wonderful marital partnerships, including that of my Aarya director, Ram Madhvani, and producer, Amita Madhvani. I truly value companionship and friendship, and if they’re present, I believe anything is possible. But most importantly, that respect and friendship, along with freedom, are paramount. Hence, I cherish my freedom and my career immensely,” she explained.
Sushmita Sen is a proud single mother to her daughters Alisah and Renee, whom she adopted in 2010 and 2000 respectively.
