Authorities at Seoul’s Seocho Police Station have reported the recent apprehension of a man in his 30s, identified only as A, who was found impersonating N.Flying’s Kim Jae-hyun.
Following a complaint lodged by a woman who was deceived by A, the police were able to bring him into custody. A representative from Seocho Police Station confirmed, “A has been arrested and is facing legal prosecution on fraud and theft allegations”.
Further inquiry into the matter unveiled a string of victims having suffered at the hands of the impostor, with numerous reports of financial losses. Kim Jae-hyun, whose identity A had commandeered, was engaged in the investigation procedures, offering testimony as a witness.

FNC Entertainment, the agency representing Kim Jae-hyun, disclosed in February that there had been ongoing incidences of individuals impersonating their client, stating “There have been continuous cases of people impersonating our artist, and N.Flying member Kim Jae-hyun”.
The agency added, “Fans’ reports have brought to our attention that someone has been falsely posing as Kim Jae-hyun to mingle with others and commit wrongful acts, severely tarnishing our artist’s good name. We urge the public to take caution to avert any further victimization.”
The increased frequency of impersonation scams, not only targeting Kim Jae-hyun but also his fan community, has prompted law enforcement to intensify their investigative efforts to curb further incidents.
Kim Jae-hyun initiated his career with N.Flying in 2015 and has been fulfilling his mandatory military service as a public service worker since the previous May.
