2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Priced at $57,445, Comes with Hybrid Engine as Standard

Toyota has revealed that the all-new 2024 Land Cruiser, which is scheduled to arrive in showrooms this spring, will have a starting price of $57,445. This price includes a $1,495 destination fee and coincides with the figures previously announced at last summer’s unveiling of the redesigned Land Cruiser, also referred to as the 250 Series.

The base model is known as the Land Cruiser 1958, a homage to the year the vehicle was introduced in the American market. In addition to the entry-level version, Toyota is offering a mid-tier Land Cruiser and a premium Land Cruiser First Edition, with prices set at $63,445 and $76,445, respectively.

Compared to the outgoing 200 Series Land Cruiser that ceased production in 2021, the starting price represents a substantial decrease from the previous base price of around $85,000. This change is part of Toyota’s strategy to reposition the Land Cruiser as a more compact and rugged SUV alternative.

Dimensionally, the U.S.-spec 2024 Land Cruiser is 4.4 inches less wide and 1.2 inches shorter in height than its predecessor. It features a classic style and sits atop the Toyota TNGA-F platform, which is also employed by Toyota’s Sequoia and Tacoma and Lexus GX and LX models.

Notably, every 2024 Land Cruiser will be equipped with a hybrid powertrain, consisting of a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a 48-horsepower electric motor. The pair work in conjunction with an 8-speed automatic transmission to generate a combined output of 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. Standard four-wheel drive, a 2-speed electric transfer case, a Torsen limited-slip differential with a manual lock feature, and a rear locking differential round out the list of off-road-ready equipment. Additional off-road enhancements are available on the higher trims.

2024 Toyota Land Cruiser

The standard Land Cruiser 1958 comes with heated cloth seats, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-speaker sound system. Moving up to the mid-level models, customers will receive a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 10-speaker audio system among other amenities like synthetic leather seating. The top-tier First Edition exclusively offers genuine leather upholstery.

All models feature a robust suite of safety technologies including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. An optional surround-view camera system enhances visibility for drivers.

In comparison, the 2024 Lexus GX, which is closely related to the Land Cruiser in terms of size and function, starts at a higher price point of $64,250. Lexus positions this model as a more luxurious alternative, featuring a more refined interior and a standard 3.4-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine that produces 349 horsepower.
