A series plug-in hybrid system features a smaller battery that is constantly charged by a gasoline engine acting exclusively as a generator. Ram, another Stellantis brand, has recently rolled out a series plug-in hybrid powertrain in the 2025 Ramcharger 1500, and it is anticipated to be available in the Jeep Wagoneer as early as next year.
Additionally, Stellantis mentioned the upcoming launch of a new Jeep model that is expected to cater to mainstream audiences by 2027, speculated to be a revamped Cherokee following the discontinuation of the current model after the 2023 production year.
