Jin of BTS, recently finished his military service, hosted a live broadcast engaging with his fans. In the broadcast, he discussed the uproar surrounding his hug event and offered an apology.
He began by expressing his feelings about his military service completion.
“It’s odd to say, but my military experience was positive. Within the military, soldiers are known as warriors, corporals and sergeants as executives. I established strong bonds across ranks. There were tears all around due to the camaraderie. Personally, I cried twice; things got awkward and I had hoped to maintain my composure, but things took an emotional turn.”

“On the topic of ‘FESTA’, I suggested a well-meaning idea but faced backlash. I must clarify. I approached the organizers last year around October, November with the concept. They were straightforward, saying that plans were already set. Given the chance to contribute, I proposed a free hug event, which was initially declined. Over the next month, I negotiated. The company cited safety issues for my outdoor event proposal, guiding it instead indoors and reducing participation from my hopeful 3,000 to 1,000 fans.”
